June 2010 - What's on This Month

June or juni in Dutch, is the month that falls after mei (May) and before juli (July). As you'll notice, the Dutch don't capitalize the months of the year. This also holds true for the days of the week (maandag, dinsdag, woensdag, donderdag, vrijdag, zaterdag, and zondag).

• zaterdag 12 juni: The Hague Pride - Gay Pride Festivities in The Hague
• zaterdag 12 juni: World Naked Bike Ride Amsterdam

May 2010 saw the successful completion of National Blog Posting Month for Clogs and Tulips: An American in Holland. Lots of interesting and informative topics were covered and loads of excellent, thoughtful, and insightful comments were made by readers. I also participated in my very first Secret Post Club and got a fantastic package filled with beautiful handmade treasures from MissSearles that I'll include in a post later this month. Clogs and Tulips also took part in a Blog Jog that was very prosperous and lots of fun. Last, but certainly not least, Clogs and Tulips was named one of the top 100 lifestyle blogs by The Daily Reviewer.

The month of June also has a lot of exciting things in store for Clogs and Tulips. Next week, I launch the Tiptoe Through the Tulips interview series. Speaking of elections, don't forget to vote in the latest poll "Which party are you planning to vote for during the June 2010 elections in The Netherlands?" If you are unable to vote in the Netherlands, take this chance to make known who you would vote for if you could. Or you can just chose the "ineligible to vote" option. Vote early and vote often, as they say!
